Use single sign-on (SSO) to log in

Some companies and universities use single sign-on, or SSO, to connect with Coursera. This lets you make a new account or connect an existing Coursera account to your learning program.

If you're having an issue logging in with SSO, see our troubleshooting article.

Note: Sometimes SSO is known as OKTA, LTPA, Tivoli, or Imprivata.

If you don't have an existing Coursera account

If you don't already have a Coursera account, you'll create one as you log in with SSO by following these steps:

  1. Visit coursera.org and click Log In in the top-right.
  2. Click Log in with your organization at the bottom of the window that appears.
  3. Type in your company's URL and click Continue. This is usually whatever is after the @ sign in your email address.
  4. Type in your company email and password, then click Log In.
  5. Add an alternative email to keep all your Course Certificates in one account.
  6. Type a password in the “Create a Coursera account password” field and click Sign Up.

If you already have an existing Coursera account

If you already have a Coursera account, you can connect your organization account and personal account by following these steps:

  1. Log out of your existing account by visiting coursera.org, clicking your name in the top-right, and selecting Log Out at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
  2. Find the invitation to the learning program you received via email or a Learning Management System and click the link in the invitation.
  3. Click Log in with your organization at the bottom of the window that appears.
  4. Type in your company's URL and click Continue. This is usually whatever is after the @ sign in your email address.
  5. Type in your company email and password, then click Log In.
  6. On the screen that appears, choose I'm an existing Coursera user.
  7. Enter the email address and password associated with your existing Coursera account.
  8. Click Continue.

The next time you return to Coursera, you can sign in with SSO by clicking Log in with your organization and entering your company's domain and login credentials or by logging in with your email and the password associated with the personal Coursera account that you connected.

Unlink your Coursera account from Facebook, Google, or Apple

If you can't log in with SSO when you start to set up your account, you might already be connected with Facebook, Google, or Apple. If this happens, you might see an error message that says “Sorry there’s a problem with your account. Please contact Coursera Support to resolve this issue.”

To unlink your account from Facebook, Google or Apple:

  1. Log in to Coursera.org with your existing account
  2. Click Account Settings in the top right corner
  3. Scroll to the "Linked Accounts" section
  4. Click Delink my _____ Account
  5. After you delink your Facebook, Google or Apple account, you'll need to click on the link in your invitation to try logging in with SSO again.

Change your Coursera for Business email address
