Certificates and Course Credit

Most Coursera courses and all Specializations offer certificates to learners who successfully complete their requirements.

Learn about:

Certificates

Most Coursera courses offer the option to purchase a Verified Certificate, a shareable way to show your progress on Coursera. Some older Coursera courses also offer a free Statement of Accomplishment to learners who successfully complete the course.

Specializations offer Specialization Certificates. To earn a Specialization Certificate, you must earn a Verified Certificate in every course in the Specialization and complete a Capstone Project.

To access your course grades and Coursera certificates:

  1. Navigate to your Accomplishments page. Verified Certificates are shown at the top of the page. Statements of Accomplishment are listed under Other Completed Courses
  2. Click on a Verified Certificate to view the course record and share the Certificate.
  3. Click View Statement of Accomplishment to view and download a Statement of Accomplishment.
  4. Click Show all past courses to view grades for courses without Accomplishments.

If you believe there is a problem with your grade or certificates, visit our Troubleshooting page.

Course credit

Coursera courses and certificates don't carry university credit, though some universities may choose to accept Coursera certificates for credit.

Some companies and organizations let their employees earn continuing education credits through Coursera. Check with your university or organization to learn more.

Accessing content after a course ends

Some instructors choose to leave their courses open after the official end date, so enrolled learners can continue to access the course materials and forums.

Other instructors may close the course, especially if another session of the course is scheduled. Check your course's announcements and FAQ page for information about ongoing access.
